Midland High tennis sweeps BC Central

BAY CITY — Midland High’s boys’ tennis team opened its dual match season Wednesday with an 8-0 sweep of host Bay City Central.

In singles, Jackson Keefe won the first flight 6-1, 6-3; Evan Johnson won the second flight 6-1, 6-0; Parker Hillman won the third flight 6-1, 4-6, 6-1; and Fred Temple won the fourth flight 6-1, 6-0.

In doubles, Josh Doyle and Jacob Doyle won the first flight 6-0, 6-0; Aiden O’Malley and Braylen Laverty won the second flight 6-4, 6-1; Owen Jozwiak and Colter Liphard won the third flight 6-0, 6-1; and Dietrich Greiner and Tommy Kroll won the fourth flight 6-0, 6-1.

The Chemics, who won the four-team Jim Teal Invitational last week, stand at 1-0 in dual matches and will face crosstown rival Dow High at Northwood University on Monday at 4 p.m.
