LAKEWOOD — Denny Howe fired a gross 34 and Mike Peyton shot a net 29 to highlight action in the Youngsville Area Senior Golf League at Maplehurst Country Club.

Pete Hofert had a gross 35, and Peyton, Tim Sandberg and Gary VanGuilder followed with a 37.

In other net scores, Howe and VanGuilder had a 29 and Don Melson had a 31.

Hofert and Ron Holmes had two birdies, while Bob Stevens, Howe, Sandberg, Jack Abplanalp, Terry Jackson, Peyton, Gary VanGuilder, Juan Torres, John Blum, Art Ward and Rod Korbar had one birdie apiece.

ASHVILLE — Marsha Gastol fired a 44 for low-gross honors, Sue Skoglund had a 33 for low-net honors and Nancy Baker had the fewest putts to pace Class A in the Partakers League at Timber Creek Golf Course on Aug. 17.

In Class B, Sally Saff shot a 58 for low gross, Cindi Burns and Mimi Huffman each had a 38 for low net, and Sandy Nelson had the fewest putts with 16.

On Aug. 25, Rosemary Allen had the low gross with a 46, Skoglund had the low net with a 33 and Cheryl Johnson had the fewest putts with 14 in Class A.

In Class B, Karen Vanstrom had the low gross with a 59, Nelson had the low net with a 36 and Saff had the fewest putts with 18.
