Town of Colonie Golf Course hopes to open April 3

COLONIE — Finally, something depends on the weather and not COVID-19

The Town of Colonie is hoping to open the course on Friday, April 3 with the driving range opening as soon as Tuesday, March 31.

There will be come precautions, though, including no carts, no access to the clubhouse or public bathrooms and tee times will be extended to 16-minute intervals. The practice green will remain closed.

Golfers will not be paired with others, and only those who come together will play together.

As far as play goes, there will not be any flagsticks, rakes or ball washers. Any ball in a sand trap is considered “ground under repair” and the golfer is eligible for a free lift.

Also, the cups will be raised above the green and a ball is considered “holed” when it touches any part of it.

Golfers are to stay six-feet apart, are not to shake hands and are not to share equipment with each other.

Call the golf shop at (518) 374-4181 for more details and to make a reservation.
