Despite coronavirus concerns putting a halt to pretty much everything, the plan for Tiger Woods’ first public access golf course to open in Branson this year is still on.
Bass Pro Shops Director of Communications Jack Wlezien told the News-Leader the course remains on track for a full opening in 2020.
“Golf is a great form of social distancing and a healthy stress reliever in these uncertain times,” Wlezien said. “As spring comes into bloom, we are modifying our operations to safely accommodate golfers on our world-class courses.”
Payne’s Valley will be the first public golf course designed by Woods.
Woods and Bass Pro Shops and Big Cedar Lodge founder Johnny Morris announced plans to open the course at a press conference in Ridgedale in April 2017.
Big Cedar Lodge has given golfers “preview play” opportunities on the course since November.
