BARRINGTON — The Town of Barrington is pleased to announce that Jessica Tennis has been selected as the Town’s next Recreation Director, effective March 2, 2020. The vacancy became available in late January upon the resignation of Tara Barker. Jessica will be responsible for continuing the high-quality of municipal recreation programs familiar to Barrington residents while implementing the initiatives of the strategic plan.
Jessica Tennis, a life-long Barrington resident, was originally hired in the summer of 2004 in the summer camp program. During the past fifteen years, she has worked as a summer camp counselor, summer camp director, before and after school care supervisor, and Assistant Recreation Director for the past five years. The Town Administrator and Recreation Commission were impressed with Jessica’s commitment and dedication to the Barrington community and have full confidence in her ability to lead the Recreation Department. As Director, Jessica will focus on strategic planning, staff development and retention, and program development among her regular duties and additional tasks.
